The Person Behind the Career
About Brian
IT leader. Wisconsin native. Irish-American. Always building something.
Background
Brian Kuzdas is a senior IT leader with more than 25 years of experience building, managing, and transforming technology infrastructure across banking and finance. He currently serves as Head of IT, overseeing enterprise systems, security posture, infrastructure strategy, and the teams that keep everything running. He believes deeply that technology is only as good as the people who use it — and that the best IT leaders are translators: between the technical and the human, the possible and the practical.
Wisconsin is home. Madison, specifically — a city that punches above its weight in culture, food, and outdoor life. Brian grew up in the region and built his career here, raising a family and developing a deep affection for the lakes, the Driftless Area, and the unassuming character of the Midwest. He's the kind of person who will tell you Wisconsin is underrated and mean every word of it.
The Irish heritage runs deep. Family roots on the island have always created a pull — a sense that Ireland isn't just a destination but something closer to an origin. That pull is finally turning into action: a 14-day journey planned for Summer 2026 will cover Dublin, the Wild Atlantic Way, Connemara, Galway, and Cork. It's the most anticipated trip of his life, and he's building an app to plan it properly.
Outside of work, Brian writes, photographs landscapes, reads history, and takes road trips. He's currently exploring how AI can be responsibly integrated into community banking — a practical, human-centered approach to a technology that too often promises more than it delivers. He values people over process, curiosity over certainty, and the right answer over the fast one.

What I'm Working On
Three threads running simultaneously — because one project at a time was never really the style.

14 days, 5 regions, one carefully built web application to hold it all together. The trip is planned for Summer 2026 and the prep work is already underway — itineraries, logistics, accommodation research, and a growing list of things not to miss.

Values
People First
Technology serves people, not the other way around. Every decision starts with the human impact — the team, the user, the customer.
Build to Last
Fast fixes create slow problems. The right architecture, the right process, the right team — built to last more than one product cycle.
Always Learning
25 years in and the industry is still surprising. Staying curious isn't a soft skill — it's a survival skill in technology leadership.
Adventure Ready
In work and in life — the best outcomes come from being willing to go somewhere new. Comfortable with uncertainty. Ready to move.
